Welcome to Film on Friday! We show films, unsurprisingly, on a Friday. Our 2026/2027 will begin on 25 September. The leaflet has been published and is available from The Post Office, Five Ashes Village Hall, the MAYFACS office or, if all of those are closed, you can usually get one from our poster on the school railings. This site now has all the details of the films including links to the trailers. I will add to it as the season progresses with any other interesting material we can find, usually interviews with the film makers. Click on the links below to find out more.

What? We show an exciting and diverse programme of films which have not been widely shown, if at all, in commercial cinemas, sometimes with a remastered classic that deserves to be seen on a big screen. See 2026/2027 Season page for full details of this season’s programme.

Where? Five Ashes Village Hall map.

When? Usually the second and fourth Friday of the month from September to March each season. See 2026/2027 Season page. Doors open 7.45pm. Film starts 8.15pm.

Why? “A film is never really good unless the camera is an eye in the head of a poet” – Orson Welles.

How? Subscribe for the season or come as a guest. See the How to join page.
